Some things last. Even 110 years later.
At Viega, those qualities are innovation and entrepreneurial vision. Take, for example, the invention of press connection technology for copper pipes for sanitary and heating systems. Today, the company ranks as the number 1 provider worldwide of press technology for metal pipe systems.
The Viega Group employs more than 3,800 staff and is one of the leading producers of installation technology. Viega is working to continue its long-term success at nine locations. While production is concentrated at its four main sites in Germany, the McPherson/USA group manufactures solutions specially designed for the North American market. And the Wuxi/China site focuses on production for the Asian market. The company specialises in installation technology – the constant driver of growth. In addition to pipe systems, Viega produces pre-wall and drainage technology. The range includes 17,000 products suitable for almost all applications: for building systems technology as well as the utilities supply sector or industrial plant and shipbuilding.
Founded in 1899, the family company was based in Attendorn, in southern Westphalia, Germany. By the 1960s the company was on course to become an international group. Today, Viega exports to more than 75 countries and is mainly represented by independent sales offices worldwide. Viega constantly applies the strengths, which made the company successful in Germany, to the relevant export market: in particular, adhering to high quality standards for all products and services, the company has established its products around the world. Alongside quality it has won international recognition for exceptional design. Numerous design awards such as the “red dot” or “iF award” confirm the successful link between the function and design of Viega products.
Viega is committed to the promotion of youth development training. In Germany, the company permanently employs more than 150 young vocational trainees in 17 professions. Viega trainees regularly achieve top places at World Skills events competitions.
