The brief was to design an existing office space with a simple set of requirements, which included a reception, waiting space, conference area, lounge and dry pantry.
The longest axis of available space was identified, which became the conference-area. The existing, large, floor-to-ceiling windows brought in sufficient light providing good views of a park outside. Hence it was decided to keep this small office free of any partitions that could possibly compartmentalize an already small space.
The three tables required -conference, coffee and reception-table were designed as a continuous piece connected across the office, thus unifying the odd shaped space.
The cabinetry/TV unit was conceived as a means to hide an existing structural-column while providing ample space for file-storage and gadgets.
The table-tops are finished with corian and flooring is carpet, making it easy to wrap the material below the tables. The plywood-cabinet has shutters finished in white opaque glass.
