Kalhan Mattoo and Santha Gour Mattoo of Planet 3 Studio were commissioned to revamp the look and feel of RPG headquarters. Changes were associated with the reception and recreation area and also the training space. The refreshing challenge to refurbish 9530 sq ft area cost INR 1.8 crore and was completed in September 2010 in Worli, Mumbai.
Each area is completely different from the other. As you enter the reception, you are immersed in a traditional Indian setting, serving as an extension of the outer facade of the building, the ideal entrance especially for international clients. Ample space, high ceilings and abundant sunlight render a perfect canvas; the huge glass windows with those peacock arches epitomize the Indian outlook.
On the other hand , the training space embodies a confluence of minimalism and sophistication. The sleek furniture as well as the serene white wall does help to concentrate. The masked cove lighting rising from the floor and spanning the ceiling creates an effect of an optical illusion of sorts. All the three fragments are quite different in their individual make-up. However, collectively their significance, influence and beauty are all enhanced being a part of this whole.
