Office for a company that transfers cargo containers across the globe. Office work strictly based on logistics and hours of paperwork. Client's brief: a dynamic space that breaks away from the mundane of routine work thereby providing much needed playfulness to the employees and a definite sense of identity with the related industry.
We imagined the 20,000 cubic ft. of volume with various cargo boxes floating across, ultimately frozen under suspended animation. Quite literally; the work cubicles, the red frames carrying multiple service cables, light cubes and the storage boxes were all a manifestation of these floating boxes arranged randomly along a central active street. The materials employed for construction were all relating to the shipping industry from the recycled packaging medium density fiber boards, checkered steel plates, red oxide surfaces and a specially created wall paper out of cargo receipt prints!
