Jack G. Mitchell

Jack G. MitchellJack Mitchell goes way back with Boyd, starting in 1962, when he answered an ad for "Salesman Who Can Sketch." When Jack discovered what the company was about he went home and designed a church fixture, which he had never done before. Returning the next day, he presented his sketch to Jack Sweet; impressed, Mr. Sweet gave Jack Mitchell the job. Over the years Jack began designing his own custom jobs and in 1978 became the Director of Design for Boyd. In addition to custom designs, he's been responsible for a number of historical restorations including the Paramount Theater in Oakland, CA and the Iolani Palace in Honolulu, HI. In 1979 Jay Sweet and Jack Mitchell launched the first of several Boyd catalogs.
