The premiere edition of India Art Expo, 2017 will take place from the 20th to the 23rd of April at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi.
This fair will focus on the 'New Contemporary', bringing forth emerging art practices from galleries and artist collectives around the world and the country.
Over four days the fair will offer a comprehensive overview of contemporary art making enterprises in the local and global contexts. It will provide an advanced yet accessible environment for new collectors at the onset of their collections as well as art patrons and professionals, curators, artists and other art aficionados. Alongside the primary exhibition space the sprawling 1, 65,000 sq. ft. fair area will also include a Sculpture Garden, a Video Lounge and a section for selected solo projects.
The lineup of auxiliary programs comprise of panel discussions, workshops for school students, day long performance art events and other on site presentations. The fair will also be publishing a catalogue.
The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, one of the largest multipurpose arenas in India, will provide the event a multifaceted venue. Delhi, the art capital of the country, will similarly grant the fair a widely informed audience, an experienced buyer base and a plethora of other infrastructural support. Interested galleries are invited to present dynamic recent works from their roster of represented artists. Collectives may present their works independently, in consultation with the fair's curatorial team, or in collaboration with galleries.
