Hockey is India's national game and its importance is felt over the number of tournaments held though the years. The Karnataka state Hockey Academy (KSHA) built the Hockey stadium in Bangalore for the National Games held in India. VBT Consortium was commissioned to design the stadium with its attributes and features. VBT's teams conducted extensive surveys and research and worked in close association with the Client to bring about their vision. The pitch was designed to national standards and cured with international consultants. The change rooms for the visiting and home teams with their amenities were embedded for the comfort and international standards. Extended amenities such as swimming pool, sauna and steam were integrated as entertainment for the players. The slope of the stadium accommodating 4000 capacity of audience with seating was designed with shared logistics to support the same. The stadium was designed with large span structure and roofing with reduced columns for optimal viewing from the stands. The stands with differential levels with VIP and press boxes embedded in design.
