Callifest Pune 2015

When we say 'India', a complex collage of images crowd in our mind. It is one of the most rapidly growing economies of the world & has reigned as the spiritual capital of the world for centuries. It is a harmonious blend of religions & cultures & a land that has a prosperous history of science & art. Our nation is known for its many unique features. One of them is the official recognition of 17 scripts. Each script has its own beauty & charm. The influx of English (Roman Script) & the western culture has led to the neglect of our scripts, which in reality have evolved more rationally.

Noted Calligrapher Achyut Palav has spent time touring India & other countries, learning the finer aspects of calligraphy. In his endeavors, he realized that no other country has the potential in calligraphy that India has, in respect to both, scripts & talent. The celebration of this fact became the premise of 3rd edition of our event Callifest for 2015. This year is dedicated to the 'Exquisiteness of Indian Scripts' & will be held in Pune. It is brought to the audiences by Svayambhu Foundation, an organisation dedicated to provide innumerable possibilities for growth and success in field of Arts and Sports. They have collaborated with the Achyut Palav School of Calligraphy- Mumbai & lent their wholehearted support to Callifest - 3rd Edition.

The purpose of the event is to bring into light the potential of Indian Scripts, which are phonetically superior & aesthetically rich. There will also be an exhibit of various applications of calligraphy with a contemporary styled display of designs by amateurs & masters. Callifest- 3rd Edition will remain true to its aim - Exploring Calligraphy & promise you a festival of remarkable beauty.
