Studio eight twenty three was founded as an inter-disciplinary studio in 2010 by Samir Raut and Siddhesh Kadam. Both partners studied in Mumbai, then at the college of fine arts, UNSW, Sydney.
The partners refer to their office 'not as a practice but as a collaboration of ideas, ideals and aspirations towards the pursuit of happiness'. The studio's work is difficult to categorize, as it varies form installation art to spatial design and from visual arts to architecture.
More recently with the addition of a materials workshop, along with the studio, the duo have expanded their realm to observe and interpret the relations between the extraordinary and the mundane.
