Family + Support. Just the name of the project alone tells you what the design needs to do: provide an uplifting and healthy place for a cross section of humanity who uses the center in diverse emotional and economic conditions. The architects were inspired to create a humane and respectful experience for people who use L.A. Countys critical county services. The San Fernando Valley Family Support Center consolidates seven county Health and Human Services programs into one multi-agency location, with the goal to improve interdepartmental collaboration among its 1,000 employees who work to enhance the well-being of children and families through the effective delivery of support services focused on health, safety, economic well-being, education and workforce readiness.
