Security. With the elite national defense teams all located in one area, theirs is an unprecedented facility that can house them all. Help them work together. And promote security for us all. It is more than a place. It is a living, breathing and lasting symbol.
Housing 6,400 people, 26 agencies and 170 sub-agencies is the 1.8-million-square-foot, $953 million office complex for the Department of Defense. Located at Mark Center, the complex is part of a 350-acre mixed-use campus in Alexandria, Va., just four miles from the Pentagon. Using a unique, developer-led, design-build process, the 30-month construction schedule was completed five weeks early and more than $50 million under budget.
