It all started in the Istanbul district of Kartal in the year 1942. The team of eight-man worked very hard to supply the country with a variety of earthenware products that couldn't be imported to Turkey during the Second World War. After the war there was the construction boom all around with a huge demand of sanitary ware.

After the success of ceramic sanitaryware the company in 1979 diversified in the faucet production. It offered complementary bathroom products alongside sanitaryware. Then in 1983 Vitra launched the brand internationally. Today Vitra is the leading global provider of a wide range of bathroom components.
