The CSIA Signage Structures The easy to install, flexible Signage system at the Bombay Intl Airport.
We worked on the Structural systems for various signage for the CSI Airport in Bombay. The design challenge was to design a versatile, flexible system that adhered to stringent guidelines, and could be adaptable to various mounting possibilities. Project Head : Leaf Design
The design process involved detailing of each system type, detailing production and fabrication processes for ease of production, and strict tolerances to avoid dust and weathering
Details of joinery and fixing were worked out, along with a material language. The idea was to build in as much flexibility was possible at the design stage itself
The Installed signages included a hierachy of structure as well, the blue portions indicating directional signages, and the grey portions indicating sub-categories. We set them back to highlight the relationship hierarchies
Corridor signage installed on the waffle ceiling, with levelling possibilities due to clutch ties
Signages at various portions of the airport were installed, keeping in mind heights and visibility.
Essential services signages in a wall mounted option, where they exist singularly
Pop-up signage for the Toilets and Drinking water signs, wall mounted for more visibility
