Another strange brief, this Spa by day turns into a Bar by night
An amazingly bizarre brief, the Amoda Spa-Bar is a Spa by day and a buzzing bar at night. These seemingly divergent vibes turned into an interesting design brief for us to interpret
We looked at a dark, clubbish interpretation of nature, using large, treated graphic surfaces to create much of the ambience, along with a textural use of natural materials like pot-pourri. 100 Watts Design Studio worked on the project with us, to design all the graphics and elements in the space
The details and graphics looked at the dark side of Nature, using tight crops and closeups to bring out both divergent sides of the brief in the design
Each element in the space had a schizophrenic dual nature. Shower cubicles became lamps at night, lights came on behind black fabric screens, to totally alter the look and feel of the space
The therapy rooms, with different LED lit motifs behind fabric screens, allowed us to play with icons and motifs.
Rooms designed with straw mats, to allow massage therapy, with various display Spa elements. We worked on each detail of the Amoda Spa-Bar to communicate the duality of operation.
