The design brief was to build an extension to the existing school using the local traditional technologies and without the use of any city contractors.
It was decided to provide a private outdoor area to each class room. Local bricks were used for the walls and Eucalyptus ballies with clay tiles were used as a roof. No other decisions were required from Abhikram besides the initial three hours of design input and three days of construction drawing input. What was designed as a four classroom extension was executed as a seven classroom project. The cost of the construction in 1983-84 was Rs. 375/ Sq. Mt
