Offices are usually referred to as grim spaces segregated into enclosed chambers for continuous decision making and discussions. When the real estate company of Silverglades wanted an office space to be created, their brief was simple in stating the requirement of having a contemporary design approach that broke away from the convention. The space needed to essay comfort and warmth and reflect the nature of work followed by the company. Maintaining acoustic privacy yet establishing a visual connect between the individual cabins proved to be one of the challenges. It was also requested to retain the maximum height available yet conceal the underlying services and provide large individual storage areas. Hence, the response was planned accordingly. Storages were used as low height dividing walls; false ceilings were dropped selectively to gain height. The city skyline was used as the primary screen in frosted treatment on glass. A feature wall along the entrance was created which made use of construction materials being stacked between sheets of glass. The lighting installed washed the ceiling and walls with a pleasant ambience and provided warmth and a sense of belonging to an individual meandering along the spaces. Lotus achieved the completion of this task with relative ease, delivering its promise and raising the bar to another level of design fulfilment.
