The building references the pyramid, a great symbol of power in Africa. Yet simultaneously, the symbolic splitting of the pyramid, a singular and unilateral form, makes a reference to the concept of dialogue and plurality. The Pyramid thus transforms to a gateway, bridged by the Presidential office and the Cabinet room, creating an axis to the future. The flowing shape and the subtly curved frame of the roof is a symbolic gesture to the Royal Stool of the Tribal King, and the louvered veil of the faade, with its Adinkara Symbols, references a traditional home.
