The ever evolving campus of Sunstar Overseas, a rice processing unit, developed a requirement of setting up an office building in the premises when they decided to shift their office activities closer to their works.
The task if accommodating an office building amidst an array of tail, linear warehousing units was challenging. We felt that a simple, format of material vocabulary would most appropriately express the new, improved working of the factory, an imagery that the client wanted it's international buyers to carry back with dry husk being inseparable part of the environment, we aimed at creating a more introvert building. The square built block drew a more eventful entry col-md-4, a semi circular glass paneled surface with a large landscaped forecourt, welcomes the visitor. The office building needed storing boundaries to contain itself on a larger site where sporadically and gradually developed sheds happened almost every where. Large surfaces with voids help the forecourt breathe, yet achieve the desired definition. Similar voids transcend on the fa?ade wall of the building through which one gets glimpses of lush green courts. As one enters, the reception on the axis welcomes the visitor with a court yard taking the backdrop. White collar functions like the director's room, conference room and meeting room take more prime locales on the ground floor with the rest of the dense staff requirement being housed on the floor above. A well equipped gym at the center of the floor plate acts as a social communication space
