Mukt Jewellers approached DGA with a requirement of creating gigantic jewellery mall. They had purchased 30 shops at a retail mall and wanted to converted into one exclusive jewellery showroom. The design of the store should broaden their client base and ensure locality to their older clients. The showroom is spread across 35,000 sq ft. with 3 floors and a basement with parking.
The real challenge was to combine all purchased shops such that it seems clutter-less and seamless space without disturbing the structure. All the internal partition walls were removed and made into one grand open space. The showroom offers a confluence of traditional and contemporary jewellery designs in gold, silver, platinum, diamond and semiprecious stones. Lighting was very crucial due to varied collection of jewellery.
As the showroom is a part of a mall, there were limitations in the elevation. There are two shops on either side of the mall and the showroom entrance is from the centre of the mall. The showroom offers very cozy yet a welcoming foyer. The pious idol and colour rendering of the space is enchanting. It makes the customer comfortably as well as provides a sense of invitation. The voluminous, effortless and uncluttered view of the showroom frames grand welcome to the customer.
The mall is a bit of a maze which spreads over 3 floors with long corridors on each floor. Areas were divided in such a way that centre part remains the focal point. On the ground floor, the six obstructed columns in the central part were treated and covered with ply and pop to create an illusion of gigantic 3 arches. The hand painted floral motifs on arches and ambience of the entire space gives an touch of Arabic souq. It also houses exclusive antique collection display and small jewellery to achieve maximum crowd in the centre and to create hype for the business. On the right side of the ground floor, there is gold jewellery display and on the left side is the cash counter, delivery counter, Ceo cabins, store room, etc.
On the first floor, one side has diamond section and on another is the silver section. On the 2nd floor, there is a exhibition hall, admin office, back support office, admin block, home theatre and children's play area, that has been designed as per user's convenience. The glass railing has been designed such that it blends seamlessly with the overall ambience and yet is functional. The grand posters of models endorsing jewellery are seen all around. Inspite of being large in size and numbers, these visuals and graphics do not overpower the design elements and aesthetics of the showroom.
The entire furniture is made on site and functionality is always been Dipen Gada's signature style. The consoles were made to display the antique and exclusives jewellery. It have been facilitated with in-built spot lights directly highlighting the display items. There is an overall play with shera ply panels with monochromic colour palette to draw more attention to the displayed products. These colours lent a sense of simplicity and vastness to the space. Shera sheets have been used in display areas with different toning. Custom designed metal jalis are used as partition between spaces creating dramatic effect. Certain areas are highlighted with beautiful carpeting whereas some areas have been rendered by tiles with galicha design.
Custom made chandelier were hung on the centre area. In other sections, ready chandelier were hunged. The general wall display has evenly spread lights dispersing equal focus on each counter and hence each product.
