Lotus was handed the project of Keya and Kainoosh, an interesting combination of a restaurant and a bar. The instructions were clear: create a chic and sophisticated Indian fine dining restaurant and a bar. The real challenge that the team at Lotus posed was that there was to be a common kitchen for the bar and the restaurant. The real task was to establish a relationship that made the kitchen an intersecting diagonal block and at the same time granting individualistic characters to both the spaces it catered to.
Keya, meaning flower, was developed keeping the bar as the focal point. It was to be made into this in lit corian island bar which held the entire design together, having a combination of cement board and bronze mirror in floral tessellations to wrap around this space, giving it a silent illuminated aura of beauty.
