Jindal Aluminium Limited (JAL) established its factory for manufacture of aluminium extrusions in the year 1968 at Bangalore. JAL has 10 aluminium extrusion presses with an installed capacity of 1,00,000 TPA. The company is the leader in aluminium extrusions in India having produced about 50,268 MT during 2012-13 and it being the largest manufacturer of aluminium extrusions, is meeting country’s 25% of total demand. It is also exporting its products to several countries all over the world. JAL’s products are well known for its quality and considered best among more than 100 aluminium extrusion manufacturers in the country. Due to image, reputation and high quality, its products command 10-15% premium in the market. However, this benefit goes to dealers and consumers only. Company’s present turnover is Rs.900 crore, share capital and reserve are around Rs.803 crore. Since beginning it is a profit making company. The Company is a net investor and has invested its surplus funds mainly in safe and secure AAA rated Bonds and Bank fixed deposits.

JAL has always advocated the use of clean energy. Wind power is environment friendly and a green technology. Our 12.04 MW Wind Power Project , situated at Chitradurga District, 200 km from Bangalore has made us self sufficient in terms of power. Infact excess electricity produced is being channelized to the State grid. JAL is also in the process of establishing another wind power project in Karnataka with 12.4 MW capacity. With this, JAL will have nearly 25 MW of self generated green energy to meet its future requirements.

The Company has set up 10 MW solar power project Chitradurga District, Karnataka with an investement of about Rs.80 crores. The company intendsto set-up 50 MW solar power project in Karnataka and will be the first to do so in the State as on date. This is another achievement in the company's continuous endeavor towards protecting the environment and mother nature.

Since inception Jindal Aluminium has instituted and runs many charitable trusts/social organizations through which it renders yeomen services to mankind. This world class facility has been setup at Dabaspet, Bangalore, 35 kms from the existing extrusion plant. With an installed capacity of 3000TPM of Sheets, Foils, Slugs, Circles, House Foils, Casseroles, Fan Blades and Fin Stocks etc.

JAL performs continuous laboratory tests and undertakes quality assurance measures wherever necessary to subscribe and sustain the standards of excellence.

Manufacturing Facility

With 10 presses under one roof, we have a whopping installed capacity of 1,00,000 MT per annum" Highest in the country " with capacity of 750, 1500, 1650, 2000, 2200, 4000 and 1650 tons. JAL has a most modern tool shop capable of producing high quality and intricate dies backed up by an international quality billet casting facility.

JAL is a forerunner in installing several technological and modern equipments in order to obtain high quality profiles. JAL has developed in-house foundry using Hot Top casting technology imported from USA, with most modern melting and holding furnaces equipped with automatic temperature controllers. The adoption of such modern technology produces highly refined close grained and oxide free logs which provide superior finish on the extruded sections.

JAL carries out the following steps to ensure defect free, high quality aluminium extrusions :

The alloy is instantly analyzed using modern Direct Reading Optical Emission Spectrometer which ensures that the composition remains within close tolerance, thereby achieving the desired mechanical properties. It also gives complete traceability.

The logs are homogenised prior to pre-heating them, in order to achieve superior quality, improved finish and uniform grain structure necessary for anodizing and powder coating processes.

The dies and toolings used are manufactured by means of high quality H13 grade imported steel and machined in latest computerised equipments like Jig Boring Machines, EDM Wire Cut Machines, Spark Erosion Machines and several other CNC equipments and hardened in vacuum heat treatment furnace.

Ageing - thermal treatment is carried out using a high velocity air oven with precisely controlled temperature that results in uniform properties in the extruded aluminium profiles

The dimensions of the extruded profiles are checked and ensured by ROMIDOT automatic profile inspection and measurement system. The extruded aluminium profiles are finally handled by PLC controlled conveyor system till they are packed. The identification and traceability of the sections are also taken care of by imprinting the company logo on each package.

JAL possesses in-house facilities for developmental research and innovation to pursue the fast paced advanced scientific development.
