This project offered a rare opportunity to work on the Asia's largest grassroot refinery. Though one has to work with myriad restrictions on the use of greenery owing to fire hazards and related regulations, the clients' keenness to introduce as much vegetal cover as possible encouraged us to create a copious number of pockets within the otherwise drab environment.
The surrounding open spaces of the Non plant buildings such as Control Room, Laboratory, Visitor Centre etc. as well as the water reservoirs, helped increase the green quotient of the premises. The mandatory green belt was planted with fruit trees which facilitates the self sustained up-keep and at the same time boasts of a great collection of native and exotic species.
