IDEO Studio We designed the new, flexible layout and fit-out for IDEO in Bandra
The layout for the new IDEO studio was worked around movable walls, to be conceived of as a mobility and flexibility exercise, to expand or contract the studio on demand, for their various requirements.
We worked out straight line intersections for their studio, to allow workspaces to accodate both individual work-tables, as well as large conference and discussion meetings. These were planned in close partnership with the IDEO design team, to study their requirements in close detail
We worked on a design language that blended the best of old Bombay with a contemporary international form. We favored single piece bent glass tables for the studio, set on a heritage floor. IDEO internationally creates city specific references for their offices, we looked at the old Bombay floors for a city specific reference.
The office also has a large rolling shutter that shuts off the projects rooms on demand, if increased privacy is required for the main studio.
The projects room is a separate entity when required, and works as an independent hub for projects. The centralised table format helps foster interaction between team members, and also allows them to surround themselves with project related influences and material
Two smaller sound-proofed rooms were created to allow for long calls with their international offices. These side rooms also cater to smaller 2 person meetings.
The office had a fantastic birds-eye view over the entire city, hence we pulled all built strcutures to the centre of the site, allowing clear line of sight all around the studio. We worked on sliding doors and shutters to be able to open up the entire office when required.
