As one enters the house from the entry plaza and the common lobby, a smaller court precedes the central court; as seen in tradition courtyard houses in the north; screening direct views in. Along the north edge the landscape folds into a partially sunken lower court that winds its way to the central court. The artifacts studio sits between the two courts. Smaller light courts with appropriate plantation further punctuate the three bars. The court then further merges with the lawn towards the north.
Each living space in the house is directly connected with an outdoor space either within the courtyard or to the lawns on the outer periphery of the house. On the first floor, a strong visual connection has been made between the space and the outdoors, both immediate as well as to the ridge outcrop.
