A conscious attempt was made at the initial conceptualization to bring back the environment of the old Irani bistros; whose intimate seating created a lively environment. The sites chosen were the top floor and terrace, of a five floored building; set in the posh area of Jubilee Hills. The clients wanted another mezzanine floor above the terrace roughly equivalent to half the area of the terrace. The main idea was to create a place which is highly comfortable for social interaction. The traffic inspired semi steam-punk theme came naturally as a consequence of the ever changing face of the city. The juxtaposing of roadways always perceived to be grounded with the altitude of the place gives it a tremendous vibe. Everything that composes the urban-scape of the city contributes to the material palette of this bar; like exposed brick, painted metal sheets and pipes, concrete, wood and glass. Collaboration with local artists made it possible to craft out graffiti and installations; reminiscent of vintage pop culture.
