Vadodara was a proportionately a smaller site area as compared to the site requirement. The client proposed for a mixed use development, including retail and cinema. It was a conscious call to make it a two screen multiplex instead of a three screen, to make fit the sanctioned 600 seating.
The design team has used a 4.5 mt overhang on either sides of the elevation to accommodate cinema and its requirements. The elevation was designed polygonal with one point constant, so as it to make the structure appear changing its facade at every interval. To further exaggerate it iridium cladding was used as surface treatment, which changes colour with sunlight from purple to terracotta, all shades of copper. Internally too, the placement of elevators is zig zag to allow vertical mobility to be seen by patrons. Furthermore the atrium is covered with Teflon roofing material to exaggerate the height and make it spacious.
