Architecture for Humanity New York is accepting submissions for construction, interior design, landscape, and other design-related projects for the AfHny Community Design Competition 2014.
This competition will be held in two-stages, the first will be a request for proposals open to all organizations in New York City's social sector. Proposals from eligible organizations will be accepted from January 9th until 5pm EST on Friday, January 31st, 2014. The Board of Directors of AfHny will select sub-finalists based on the project's alignment with our mission, the organization's ability to fund the project, and the proven capacity of the organization to impact New York City's communities based on past results. The sub-finalists will then be required to make a 7 minute presentation detailing their project at a live event held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, where the members of AfHny and a pre-selected panel of jury members will vote on the winning organizations. All other sub-finalists will be eligible to resubmit their project for consideration through AfHny's normal selection process.
In the second stage of the competition, AfHny will host a design competition for the winning proposal. Teams composed of AfHny members and members of New York City's design community will submit schematic design solutions for the project from which the organization can choose. These design teams will be composed of some of the top talent in New York City's design community.
Submit your proposals before 31st Jan 2014, 7:00 PM.
