The task was to connect two apartments placed on top of each other as one unit for a single family having a requirement of 4 bedrooms. The central dining space has been created as double height to draw natural light in the center of the house where the stair going up becomes a focal point of the house.
Here the staircase also acts as a storage unit supporting dining facilities. Two seating arrangements, one for formal meeting and another for casual sitting, arranged on either side of the dining create large living space well connected with the kitchen and terraces.
At the upper level two children's room and one large master bedroom is accommodated. The master bed has been designed to view the Chaturshingi Temple. The house is designed with simple beige colour flooring and walls, whereas the reddish wood (Sapeli) plays a great role to enhance all furniture with contemporary characters. In addition to this the flame finished as well as mirror finished Cadbury brown granite helps to define the main passage areas and service counters to complete the overall composition of colour and material.
