The project site is a beach front location which is densely wooded with palms and other verdant green. The brief entailed a major architectural refurbishment of six ocean front bungalows. These bungalows today stand in a very dilapidated state and were reconceived as single storey structures bound by thick basalt walls. Most design
decisions were based on a maintenance free ideologies as these would function as second homes.
The brief further entailed a development of another set of twelve bungalows just behind the ocean front homes. These were scratch build designs developed in a rather thin rectilinear fashion with solid concrete service spines
and glazed living spaces. This approach allowed for the preservation of all major trees, sectionally, the development will take a tiered geography to allow the bungalows at the back a view of the ocean too
